An evening (mid shift) remote diagnostic radiologist role, for physicians who prefer predictable afternoon and evening hours and a fully remote reading environment. The blocks are defined with no call, so you can plan your life around them. Choose a 7-on/7-off or 7-on/14-off rotation reading primarily emergent studies during peak evening volume, productivity-based with no fixed read quotas.

This role covers afternoon and evening interpretation across a broad mix of hospitals and health systems nationwide. The evening window is primarily emergent and urgent, with some routine studies earlier in the block. You read in a single environment that brings together PACS, RIS, dictation, reporting, and operational support, with fast access to subspecialist colleagues for consults anytime.
The evening shift covers peak afternoon and evening emergency volume, primarily emergent and urgent studies, read fully remotely. When your shift ends, it ends: no personal worklist to clear and no obligation to stay late. Instant peer and subspecialist consults are built into the platform, with the ability to transfer cases to colleagues if clinically pragmatic. Plus, evening hours are paid at a higher rate, with additional shifts available if you want them.
Primarily emergent/ED studies, with some routine studies in earlier hours. CT 41-43%, X-Ray 35-37%, CTA 10%, Ultrasound 8%, MRI 4%.
vRad’s compensation is transparent and productivity-based, and every radiologist reads on the same published rates regardless of tenure. You’re paid by vRad’s Work Unit, calibrated to the time and effort each study takes (which also removes the incentive to cherry-pick), and you can track your earnings in real time. There are no minimum reading quotas; shift rates are published and consistent, with higher pay for nights, weekends, and holidays, and a bonus rate if you choose to pick up extra shifts, so your income stays in your control. For this role, estimated annual compensation runs $425,000-$775,000, based on productivity and volume.

Yes. vRad shift rates are published and adjust by time of day, so later hours are compensated accordingly, with weekend and holiday premiums on top.
Two ways. The vRad evening (mid shift) shift can carry over non-emergent volume from daytime service, depending on start time. And because vRad’s shift differential increases through the night into the early morning, the overnight (nighthawk) shift pays a higher effective Work Unit rate.
