This article will provide an overview of the imaging characteristics of some disease processes that can affect the elbow, such as trauma, arthropathy, and infection. The choice of imaging modality—radiography, sonography, scintigraphy, arthrography, CT, or MRI—depends on the suspected disease process, the availability of advanced imaging, and the personal preference of the radiologist.
