What led you to Radiology as a profession?
Not only is radiology interesting and intellectually challenging, it’s a core function of every major area of medicine. I am continuously challenged to provide referring physicians with accurate and actionable reports—and everyday those reports impact an enormous scope. Since radiology’s inception it has always had a broad impact on healthcare. As a teleradiologist that scope only widens.
I think any aspiring radiologist willing to face that challenge should go for it! As Theodore Roosevelt said, “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”
What are you passionate about personally? What volunteer activities or nonprofits are you committed to?
I cherish the time I spend with my husband and three wonderful children. The kids always keep me on my toes—while my husband keeps me grounded—and bring such joy and laughter to my life.
Faith is another integral part of my personal life. I enjoy spending time volunteering at my church teaching youth faith formation classes and sharing the inspiration my faith has provided with the next generation.
How do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as a person of integrity; someone who always took the time to put my patient’s interests first; someone who shared a wealth of love and kindness with her family and community; and someone who, by example, impressed these values on the next generation.
